CDPH No Longer Requiring Vaccines or Testing | Keenan

September 20, 2022 by AP Keenan

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) rescinded its State Public Health Officer Order which had required unvaccinated school employees to undergo weekly COVID-19 testing. This order was first issued on August 11, 2021, and was rescinded as of September 17, 2022. One component of the order also included that schools were required to verify the COVID-19 vaccination status of school employees. School employees who were unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated, were required to submit to the regular screening schedule.

California COVID-19 numbers are currently trending down, according to the state’s COVID-19 dashboard. As a result, the August 2021 order was rescinded to better align California’s COVID-19 guidance with current federal recommendations.
