John Stephens

Chief Executive Officer

John Stephens serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Keenan, a role he assumed in December 2024. With over 25 years of experience in the insurance and risk management industry, John has played a pivotal role in developing and marketing Keenan’s proprietary Property & Casualty programs and engaging with the global reinsurance market.

Throughout his career at Keenan, John has served in a variety of roles including Account Executive, Practice Leader, and President. His strategic vision and commitment to fostering innovation and transparency have been instrumental in driving the success of the organization.

A recognized authority in the insurance industry, John has hosted several risk management symposiums and has been a featured speaker for numerous public agency organizations, including the California Association of Joint Powers Authorities (CAJPA), the California Coalition on Workers’ Compensation (CCWC), the California School Board Association (CSBA), and the California Association for School Business Officials (CASBO).
