Active Assailant Awareness & Recognition (44 minutes)
This course is designed to prepare personnel for active assailant situations by providing information on active attentiveness and how it can improve both school safety and student success. We will also review red flags and pre-attack indicators so that staff can learn how to react and respond in these situations.

Bullying: Recognition and Response (57 minutes)
Bullying continues to be a pressing problem in schools today, the effects of which can often last a lifetime for students. This course provides school faculty and staff members with a better understanding of bullying behavior, as well as their obligations to help prevent bullying. Topics covered include bullying basics, identifying bullying behavior, how bullying works, and effective ways to address the problem. Also hear from real students on their experiences with bullying, how it affected them, and what they think schools could do to help them.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Practices: Staff-to-Student (24 minutes)
The goal of this course is to provide school staff members with an overview of issues related to staff-to-student diversity. Topics covered include defining diversity, identifying behaviors - both intentional and unintentional - that can discriminate or contribute to a hostile learning environment, examining communication strategies that will enable staff members to comply with district and state policies, and exploring positive reinforcing behaviors that show respect and appreciation for students who are different than you.

Human Trafficking Awareness (60 minutes)
Human trafficking affects the lives of thousands throughout the U.S. As we become more aware of the prevalence of trafficking, it is clear that employees are in contact with victims and may have the opportunity to recognize and help them. This course provides faculty and staff with an overview of human trafficking, and ways to help identify and potentially prevent occurrences of human trafficking. Topics include the scope of human trafficking, ways of identifying victims, key stories and case studies, warning signs, and ways to respond.

Mandated Reporter: Child Abuse and Neglect (53 minutes)
This course provides staff with an overview of law regarding the mandated reporting of child abuse, including who must report, reporting obligations and procedures (CANRA), and information on the consequences for failure to report. We also provide indicators and definitions of various forms of child abuse and neglect detection, and the impact of abuse on children.

Online Safety: Predators (19 minutes)
Internet access helps us share information with a wide variety of people and groups. Unfortunately, criminals – including online predators – can exploit this and can cause serious harm to those who are not careful, including students. This course provides school staff members with an overview of online safety for students with a focus on protection from online predators. This course covers types and indicators of online predator activity, and several prevention strategies for school staff members.

Sexual Misconduct: Staff-to-Student (37 minutes)
While the vast number of school staff members are competent, capable, and caring professionals, sexual misconduct by staff members involving students unfortunately does happen. Sexual misconduct has a profound and lasting impact on the student, school, community, and staff member as well. In this course, you will learn about the obligation of every staff member to provide an appropriate level of care for all students. Specifically, this course will explore the definition of sexual misconduct, the legal obligations of school staff members, signs of sexual misconduct by staff members, and how to create clear professional boundaries that protect you as well as students.

Supporting Students in Foster Care: LEA Mandates and Responsibilities (39 minutes)
School and district administrators play a critical role in the success of students in foster care. You are key decision makers in creating and implementing the policies and practices that will ensure student success and equitable access to all necessary supports. The relationship between school site administrators and district foster care liaisons is very important. In this course you will be provided with a brief introduction about the history of foster care legislation, the roles and responsibilities of school district foster care liaisons, current education legislation for students in foster care, and some of the things to consider when serving students in foster care.

Title IX and Gender Equity in Athletics (51 minutes)
Over the last 10 years, more new sports opportunities have been added for males than for females, despite the fact that females are still significantly underrepresented in athletic programs. The determination of equality is based on comparing the treatment of all male participants to the treatment of all female participants. This course provides an overview of Title IX and how it applies to athletics programs. Topics include the history of Title IX, legal requirements and compliance, equality in treatment and benefits, and common questions and myths.

Understanding Boundaries (39 minutes)
This course is designed to identify opportunities for prevention through policies and practices that protect both staff and students, and to review the responsibilities of staff members as mandatory reporters of child abuse.

Youth Suicide: Awareness, Prevention, and Postvention (37 minutes)
The goal of this course is to provide staff members with information that will help them reduce the likelihood of suicide among students. This course covers the scope of the problem of youth suicide, common risk factors related to youth suicide, successful strategies for youth suicide prevention, the immediate steps a staff member should take if they encounter a student who is threatening suicide, and best practices for intervention after a suicide.
